I believe you can learn a lot about an artist through their inspirations, tastes, and role models. For young creatives especially, it’s important to recognize who is doing the types of things you’d like to be doing in 5, 10, or 15 years. I don’t see inspiration as something to directly copy, but rather as a springboard for my own unique take on a particular idea. Below are a handful of the films and performances I return to for grounding, motivation, and a reminder for why I do what I do.
